The Berthoud Community Library District (BCLD) is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Board of Trustrees. The seven-member Board governs the Library District and establishes policies. Applicants must reside within the Library District.

House of Neighborly Service

Items are desperately needed by the House of Neighborly Service, donations may be dropped off at the library. Thanks for your time and consideration. Suggestions include peanut butter, baking products such as brownie mix and cake mix, toiletries such as tooth paste, tooth brushes, shampoo, soap, paper towels, dish soap, and canned tomato products such as spaghetti sauces.

Northern Colorado Common Read 2012 -- Berthoud Events

The Northern Colorado Common Read (NCCR) 2012 is a regional reading initiative designed to bring people of all ages and from various libraries together to read, discuss and celebrate a single book. This year's selected book is Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. Unbroken tells the remarkable true life story of Louis Zamperini, a U.S. Olympic athlete and WWII B-24 bombardier.

Nooks are now available for check-out! We have six (6) different pre-loaded E-readers to select from. 1. Picture Books & Beginning Readers: this Nook contains picture books and apps to help with early literacy skills. 2. Chapter Books (J Fiction): this Nook contains books for elementary-aged kids. 3. Young Adult (YA) Fiction: this Nook contains books for young people in middle school. 4. Nonfiction and Enhanced Books: this Nook contains nonfiction books, many of which are enhanced with videos or internet links. 5. Adult Fiction: this Nook contains fiction books. 6. Mystery: this Nook contains mystery books.
